Portland Trail Blazers forward Moe Harkless is $500,000 richer today, thanks to his decision to not shoot any 3-pointers in the final week of the season.
Harkless, who shot 194 three-pointers during the season (the most of his career), entered the final three games shooting 35.1% from behind the arc. He had an incentive in his contract which states he is due an additional $500,000 bonus if he finished the season shooting above 35% from three.
Knowing this, he didn't shoot any threes in the final three games of the season.
Harkless had only gone six games all season without attempting a three, and three of those games came in the final week of the season when he was very much aware of the $500K that was on the line.
