Donald Trump has finally released his tax returns… kinda. According to reports, the 45th President apparently paid $38 million dollars in taxes in the year 2005.
The president only revealed this info tonight because of MSNBC's Rachel Maddow, who promised to release the 2005 data on her show Tuesday evening which she announced on Twitter (see below). Half an hour before she went live however, the White House fittingly took it upon themselves to reveal the information, claiming Trump paid the $38 million on $150 million income.
However, Trump’s camp wasn’t too happy about having to release this data. "Despite this substantial income figure and tax paid, it is totally illegal to steal and publish tax returns.” They even took a direct shot at Rachel Maddow in the process, saying "You know you are desperate for ratings when you are willing to violate the law to push a story about two pages of tax returns from over a decade ago.” For what it’s worth, Maddow's rating have skyrocketed ever since Trump took office, so another false accusation from the tan man.
We’ll continue to keep you posted if any more on this story develops.
