"I told Khaled to get a Snapchat."

GQ recently ran a piece on Miami Heat star Hassan Whiteside, highlighting his journey to becoming one of the best big men in the NBA.

Whiteside, who was released by the Kings in 2012 and played overseas in China before getting another opportunity with the Heat, is currently averaging career bests in points and rebounds per game with 16.6 and 14.2, respectively.

His rise to NBA stardom is certainly impressive, but so is the fact that he's the one who apparently convinced DJ Khaled to add Snapchat on his phone.

"I told Khaled to get a Snapchat."

"He was like what y'all think? And I was like man you should get Snapchat. And when he did it he just took off."

The rest is history, as Khaled now has over 20 million followers.

Check out the footage from GQ's story on Hassan Whiteside below, where he also details his journey to the league, his love of animals, and more.
