A few days after Chance The Rapper announced that he would be donating $1 million to Chicago Public Schools, Seattle Seahawks defensive end Michael Bennett vowed to donate all of his 2017 endorsement money.
That money will be used to "rebuild minority communities through s.t.e.a.m programs," as Bennett outlined in an instagram post today. Additionally, Bennett says that he'll donate half of his jersey sales to programs that would provide proper nutrition to inner-city communities.
In a lengthy caption on IG, Bennett wrote,
"The system is failing our kids, and it will be up to the community and our leaders to help keep the hope alive by focusing on improving our education system and the future of our kids. Any company that decides to invest in me, just know that you’ll be investing in opportunities and providing inspiration for these families- many who feel unnoticed or go unmentioned."
All of this, Bennett says, was inspired by Chance's generous donation.
