In an interview with Billboard, Migos attempted to clear the air concerning controversial comments they made about iLoveMakonnen's sexuality earlier this year. Quavo said their new record "Slide" with Calvin Harris and a certain openly bisexual artist proves they aren't homophobic.
"I got a record with Frank Ocean. That closes my case," he said.
The trio caught flack when they expressed surprise and disappointment when fellow Atlanta star iLoveMakonnen came out of the closet. They saw a dichotomy between his sexuality and his music. The "Tuesday" rapper started his career talking about selling Molly from the trap. They issued an apology the same day. Still, Quavo explained their position again.
"If you real from the heart, you real from the heart," Quavo told Billboard. "That ain’t got nothing to do with no sex or gender. It’s 2017, and we all living. When [Makonnen’s] music came out I thought it was hard, so if he would’ve come out the same way..."
