One week before he's due to become a free agent, former 49ers quarterback Colin Kaepernick has said that he'll be standing during the National Anthem from here on out.
According to ESPN, Kaepernick no longer wants his method of protest to diminish the positive changes he believes he has created. The report also claims that the amount of national discussion on social inequality, and the support from some fellow athletes, attested the message he was trying to deliver by kneeling during the Anthem.
Last year, Kaepernick said that his foundation would donate $100,000 a month for 10 months to help underprivileged people throughout the country which is a promise that he has followed through with thus far.
Kaepernick has opted out of his contract with the 49ers and will become a free agent next week.
