For his latest performance of "Shape of You," currently spending its 5th week at No. 1 on Billboard's Hot 100, Ed Sheeran ditched his acoustic guitar for a banana shaker. It turns out the fuzzy-headed panty-melter of a Hobbit can still make 'em swoon while gently shaking the suggestive children's instrument.
It helps that he was joined by Jimmy Fallon on a tiny synthesizer, Questlove doubling up on the kazoo and the güiro, and the rest of The Roots, each playing various "Classroom Instruments." "Shape of You" is the latest hit to be remixed on Fallon's recurring Tonight Show segment.
In what might be more pertinent to hip-hop fans, Sheeran recently recruited Stormzy, one of the UK's top rappers, to feature on the official "Shape of You" remix. Sheeran's next album, ÷ (Divide), is set to drop on March 3.
