Wiz Khalifa had some sad news to announce to his fans Friday. His sister Dorien “LaLa” Thomaz died of unknown causes at the tender age of 32.
The Pittsburgh rapper, whose real name is Cameron Jibril Thomaz, tweeted a message to his followers saying that his sibling's passing has been "the hardest thing" he's had to deal with.
His sister died on February 20. Global Grind reports say LaLa was transgender and the obituary respected her sexuality. Their mother Peachie Wimbush shared the obit on Instagram and added a quote from the film Steel Magnolias in honor of her daughter's last moments alive.
“There was no noise, no tremble, just peace,” she wrote in the caption. “Oh God(dess), I realized as a woman how lucky I am. I was there when that wonderful creature drifted into my life and I was there when she drifted out. It was the most precious moment of my life.” Peachie added, “I have seen, heard, and felt every bit of your love.”
