Nick Cannon and Brittany Bell, his longtime friend and former Miss USA contestant, welcomed their first child together, a baby boy, on Tuesday. They have named him Golden Sagon Cannon.
The birth of Golden Sagon comes shortly after Cannon announced that he would be abandoning his hosting duties at America's Got Talent via a lengthy, disheartened Facebook post. Even more recently, he was sued for $1.7 million for allegedly stealing the idea for his N'credible talent-searching app.
"Weeping may come for a night, but Joy cometh in the morning!" Cannon wrote in the caption of an Instagram photo of him holding his newborn son. "No matter how hard the world may hit you, God always reminds us of our purpose!"
Golden Sagon is Cannon's third child, as he fathered 5-year-old fraternal twins Monroe and Moroccan with ex-wife Mariah Carey.
Cannon and Bell planned to have a child despite not being a couple. "I always wanted five kids," he told Power 106 in an interview at the end of last year. "Just because my marriage was over didn't mean I couldn't continue to grow a family."
