While fans await the much expected Tha Carter V to hit the shelves in the near future, Lil Wayne teamed up with The Fader and Beats by Dre to produce a video repping the city of New Orleans musical heritage. Lil Wayne Love Letter To New Orleans is a minute-long video is an ode to its vibrant culture.
The video starts out with images of Weezy as a teenager in Hollygrove. It then skips to present-day post-Katrina Louisiana and skps back to the late 90s during Juvenile and Mannie Fresh's heydays. It links the past to the present musically and visually with jazz music and marching bands.
Wayne explains that he owes a debt of gratitude to those who came before him. But now, he feels he's among the city's greats. The Hot Boys reunited to perform at a Beats by Dre show during the NBA All Star weekend in the Big Easy.
