The Sacramento Kings traded away their All-Star center DeMarcus Cousins last night in exchange for 23-year old Pelicans rookie Buddy Hield, among other role players and a couple of draft picks.
It's clear the Kings highly value Hield if they were willing to center a trade for Cousins around him, but today we found out just how highly they think of him.
According to Baxter Holmes, Kings owner Vivek Ranadive thinks Buddy Hield has Steph Curry potential and his fixation with that prospect was a key driver in the deal.
Hield certainly has potential but comparing the guy to Steph in order to justify a trade that has the Kings fanbase irate just isn't fair. Especially when Boogie has actually made more three pointers than Hield so far this season.
As a reminder, this isn't the first time Vivek has tried to compare a new player to Steph.
Here's what he said about Nik Stauskas before drafting him 8th overall in the 2014 draft.
