Teixeira to join ESPN's MLB coverage.

ESPN is expected to announce today the addition of newly retired slugger Mark Teixeira to their MLB coverage as a baseball analyst.

According to ESPN, the 36-year old, 14-year MLB vet will be introduced as the newest member of ESPN today.

Teixeira should be a natural fit for ESPN's baseball coverage, he has previously worked with the company as a guest host on ESPN Radio's Mike & Mike.

Tex retired after finishing out his eight-year $180 million contract with the Yankees in 2016. In his career, he hit 409 home runs, drove in 1,298 runs, was a 5x Gold Glove winner at first base and had a .268 batting average.
