No other sports event draws the kind of Thanksgiving Day type of hype like the Super Bowl does. This year, Gucci Mane and Rocko decided to squash their beef and celebrate Super Bowl LI together.
The two Atlanta rappers posed together for a photo at Michael Vick's retirement party Sunday. Gucci posted it on his Instagram account for posterity and captioned it “My partner @rocko2real #DroptopWop and A1.”
They've come a long way since the time Gucci tweeted in September 2013, “Just seen. Rocko. Ge ask me. 1 question. All most was. With his maker. Who next. He cried like a hoe. N ran,” At the time, Guwop was headed to jail for assaulting a fan.
XXL reports that in 2013, the "U.O.E.N.O." rapper told MTV, “I pulled up like a man, but at the end of the day, I realized that homie, he got some real stuff goin’ on with him because I was loyal to homie.”
As it turns out, a few months later, Gucci would admit that a destructive drug binge fueled that rant.
“I was all the solid with homie, so for that to happen, I know it was somethin’ else goin’ on," said Rocko. "So I didn’t take it to heart like that. At first I did, but then I thought about it and I’m like, ‘Nah, that ain’t homie.'”
But that's all in the past now. Gucci's been drug-free and out of jail for months and vowed to clean up his act.
