On Friday, CNN sent out a tweet that confused R&B singer Faith Evans with country singer Faith Hill, and they've been paying for it ever since. In a post that was meant to report on the upcoming duets album between Faith Evans and her late husband The Notorious B.I.G., CNN instead suggested that it was Faith Hill who was releasing the album with Biggie.
The misprint did not go unnoticed, with the tweet attracting hundreds of replies of users who were baffled and amused by the mix-up, leading to a large thread of jokes and reaction gifs.
CNN did correct the mistake in a subsequent tweet, but left the original flub up, which meant the roast continued into the night.
Eventually, both Faith Evans and Faith Hill acknowledged the tweet. Hill commented that the hypothetical collab with Biggie "sounds awesome," while Evans posted a photoshopped photo that plastered Hill's face on top of hers in a car with the late rap star.
Laughing off CNN's slip-up with the rest of Twitter, the two decided that a proper collaboration was in order.
As for the real album, Faith Evans' and The Notorious B.I.G's The King & I will be released May 19th. Find the tracklist here.
