Unlike her husband, Kim Kardashian has spoken out against President Trump's Muslim ban. Last night, upon arriving at LAX from a vacation in Costa Rica, the Kardashians' private jet was searched by customs officers. Some suspect that the search was a direct result of Kim sharing her anti-Trump political views with her millions of followers.
On Saturday, a day after Trump's executive order, she tweeted an image of a table of statistics regarding how likely Americans are to be killed by certain groups of people, and even objects. For example, the table says that, since 9/11, an average of 2 Americans per year have been killed by Islamic jihadist immigrants, compared to 69 deaths caused by lawnmowers and 737 by falling out of bed. When it comes to being shot by another American, the annual average death toll is a staggering 11,737, according to Kim's tweet.
The tweet, which Kim captioned "Statistics," has been retweeted over 200,000 times. Kim's reach on social media far outweighs that of the president or anybody else in politics. Accordingly, it wouldn't be surprising if Kim's tweet -- intended to expose the immigration and refugee ban as an attempt at fear-mongering -- was worrying to the Trump administration.
Customs and immigration officials not only searched the plane but also conducted interviews with everyone onboard, including Kim, Khloe, Kourtney, Kris Jenner, Kylie, and Tyga.
