Former Milwaukee Bucks forward/center Larry Sanders is officially "stepping back into the game" after retiring from the NBA at the age of 26 during the 2014-15 season.
Sanders formally announced his retirement in February of 2015, following his second suspension for marijuana use, and he explained in a video that he had entered into a program at Rogers Memorial Hospital for anxiety, depression and mood disorders.
He walked away from the game in the middle of his $44 million contract with the Bucks (he agreed to a buyout of $1.9 million over seven years) but has recently worked out for the Celtics according to reports.
At the peak of his career with Milwaukee, Sanders was on the cusp of averaging a double-double with 9.8 points and 9.5 rebounds per night, but that was back in the 2012-13 season.
A deal with Boston is far from a sure thing, as it was only a workout, but Sanders feels like he'll be back in the league before long.
