Yesterday, it was reported that one of the 17 suspects arrested in connection to the October robbery of Kim Kardashian in Paris was a man who had acted as Kim's chauffeur while she was in the city for Paris Fashion Week. The identity of that man has now been revealed, and it turns out his younger brother was arrested as well. Michael Madar, 40, and Gary Madar, 27, were both taken into custody yesterday. According to Paris officials, they both work for the same car company.
The elder Madar was reportedly Kim's driver on the night of the robbery, and it is unknown how the younger brother is involved in the investigation. It could be that they leaked details of Kim's whereabouts during her stay in Paris. The robbery occurred at the private residence she was staying at, and her bodyguard was not present at the time of the crime.
The 17 suspects range in age from 23 to 72, according to The Hollywood Reporter. Authorities used DNA evidence left at the scene as well as surveillance footage to get leads on the five men who were at the residence during the theft, during which at least $9 million in jewelry was taken while Kim was bound, gagged, and held at gunpoint. The investigation eventually led police to discover a wider criminal network involved in the heist.
According to French newspaper Le Monde, the men arrested work for a company that is regularly used by the Kardashian-Jenner family when they visit Paris.
