Jamie Foxx was the alleged target of an attempted attack at Catch restaurant in West Hollywood on Saturday night, reports TMZ. A witness said the assailant lunged at the actor and had him pinned down against a table for a short time, before Foxx was able to get free and put him in a chokehold, eventually subduing him on the ground. Not bad for 49 years old. Though he does have another fox, Katie Holmes, keeping him fresh.
Apparently the angry patron approached Foxx's table to complain that they were being too loud. The altercation quickly heated up after that. A witness heard the man yell something along the lines of, "You don't want to mess with me. I'm from New York," to which a comedian at Foxx's table responded, "F*ck you, I'm from Oakland!"
It's unclear why the guy went after Foxx. Perhaps he saw last year's reboot of Annie. One can see the ending stages of the scuffle in the below video, though it's difficult to get a good look at Foxx. Both the man who instigated the fight as well as Foxx's party were kicked out of the restaurant. A number of celebrities had been present at Catch to watch the situation unfold, including Jerry Bruckheimer, Cuba Gooding Jr., Michael Bay, and Nicole Murphy.
