Relive David Blaine's near-death experience when he got shot in the mouth at point-blank range.

Magician David Blaine, whom Drake shouted out on "Sneakin'," is known for his death-defying stunts. During a show in November, he came closer than ever before when he had a rifle shoot a bullet into his mouth. Blaine had in his mouth a mouthguard as well as a metal cup intended to catch the bullet. Upon impact, though, his mouthguard broke, and for a moment, Blaine was sure that he had died.

Footage of the stunt in question aired on Saturday as part of Blaine's "Beyond Magic" special on ABC. He narrates the scene as one can see the bullet enter his mouth and ricochet off the metal cup. “When the bullet struck the cup, there was a high-pitched ringing in my ears and I felt an impact on the back of my throat. I was sure the bullet went right through my head and that I was dead,” says Blaine.

“Suddenly I became aware of the pain and it brought me back," he continues. "At that moment, I realized that the mouth guard had shattered again, and I was alive.”

Blaine's team rushed around him as he is clearly in pain. "That f*cking thing broke," he says of the mouthguard. A medic then comes to inspect his throat, quickly telling him that he has suffered a laceration, which forces Blaine to end the show. Despite his injury, he still addresses the crowd, saying, "Thank you everybody for being such an incredible audience. Peace and goodnight."

Blaine relives the stunt while in the hospital, and his assistant vows to never help him attempt the "bullet catch" again. "We're gonna do it right," responds Blaine. "That's the end of the story."
