Cincinnati Bengals cornerback Adam "Pacman" Jones was arrested early Tuesday morning and charged with assault, disorderly conduct, obstructing official business and harassment with a bodily substance which happens to be a felony charge.
Reports allege that Jones poked a man in the eye at a hotel, head butted a responding officer and then spit on a nurse and a deputy while being booked into the Hamilton County Justice Center.
Jones' bond was set at $37,500 and he had to spend the night in jail while waiting for a blood test, which could not be taken until this morning.
Reporters were waiting for Pacman when he was released today and he maintains that he merely touched the victim, and it was nothing close to an assault.
Per ESPN:
"I'll let everything play out in court," Jones told reporters after being released Wednesday. "Obviously, without getting into it, none of this makes sense."
Jones demonstrated lightly poking someone on the arm.
"For touching a guy, like this, I got arrested," Jones said. "We'll see how it goes. I'm more than [confident] that this will be dismissed pretty soon."
"I'm sorry that this happened. It would be different if I was beating people's ass, but for touching someone?"
