DL Hughley tweeted his perspective on a Hollywood actresses death and Twitter went in on him.

Famed comedian DL Hughley has left Twitter up in arms after he tweeted what was received as an ill-willed remark about Hollywood actress Debbie Reynolds death.

Last night, the comedian took to twitter to share his thoughts on the unfortunate and eery situation involving the deaths of Carrie Fisher and her mother Debbie Reynolds. He posted the following tweet:

We are not quite sure if Hughley meant for the tweet to be taken as a joke or a serious evaluation of the current socioeconomic climate in the world, or both. However, we do know that twitter lost it, and decided to give them a piece of their mind.

The first initial reactions keep it pretty lighthearted, in the sense that users are expressing their shear bewilderment at the comment from the comedian. But things get way more heated and awry as users begin to call out Hughley.

At one point, Hughley even has words with a user in an effort to justify himself.

Things start to really go all over the place and we get sort of a free-for-all as users clap back at each other in defense and opposition of Hughley's statement.

The tweet thread clocks in at a whopping 2.6 thousand with only god knows how many impressions. At any rate, we truly hope that the comedian meant no malice by the tweet, and extend our condolences to the families affected by this horrible tragedy.
