Two Toronto sisters were arrested in Nigeria for extorting and cyberbullying a local billionaire.

On Instagram, where they have close to 60,000 followers combined, sisters Kiran and Jyoti Matharoo were often seen living the high life in exotic locales and luxury hotels. However, this could all come to an end. The siblings are being detained in Nigeria. They are accused of extorting and cyberbullying a local billionaire.

The Toronto Star reports that the sisters threatened businessman Femi Otedola with proof that he cheated on his wife. They told Otedola they would publish the evidence on a notorious sex-scandal website called NaijaGistLive.

The businessman's net worth is reportedly $1.8 billion. According to Forbes magazine, he is the 16th richest person in Africa. The sisters were arrested following a private investigation.

According to court documents, the Matharoo sisters stand accused of being “responsible” for the website NaijaGistLive and other social media accounts on Instagram and Twitter used for cyberbullying around 274 people in Africa.

Global Affairs Canada, a Canadian government department in charge of diplomatic relations, have confirmed they are providing consular services to the sisters, who are Canadian citizens.
