President-elect Donald Trump called out the editor-in-chief of Vanity Fair after the magazine published two insulting stories about him this week.

A publication has bashed Trump, and the mild-mannered president-elect has responded on Twitter, declaring war upon said media outlet -- in this case Vanity Fair magazine -- and citing its "really poor numbers." How many times have we seen this? In this case, Trump specifically goes after Vanity Fair's editor-in-chief Graydon Carter, with whom he has a combative history.

"Has anyone looked at the really poor numbers of @VanityFair magazine?" the soon-to-be president asked his 17 million followers earlier today. He proceeded to offer his opinion on the prospects of the magazine: "Way down, big trouble, dead!" He went on to call out the "no talent" editor-in-chief, suggesting that Graydon Carter will soon be fired.

Trump's hostility toward Vanity Affair seems to be in response to a couple of recent stories published by the magazine that seem to mock the future president. One story is entitled "Someone Has Finally Agreed to Perform at Donald Trump's Inauguration," and it reveals that 16-year-old opera star Jackie Evancho has been tapped as the first artist (after many attempts at A-listers) to agree to perform for Trump as he officially takes office.

Also this week, Vanity Fair gave Trump's restaurant an unsavory review -- to say the least -- in an article titled "Trump Grill Could Be the Worst Restaurant in America."

Trump has held Carter in contempt for at least a year now. The editor-in-chief was apparently the one most responsible for proliferating the joke about Trump's abnormally little hands, for which -- much to his chagrin -- he was mocked by Marco Rubio and just about all of the late-night comics.

In October and November of 2015, Trump sent out two tweets disparaging Carter, predicting he would be fired from Vanity Fair and also calling him a "total loser."
