Earlier this week it was reported that UFC lightweight champion Conor McGregor was offered a role to appear in one of the final two seasons of HBO's Game Of Thrones, with one source confirming that it was all but a done deal.
“It’s been agreed that McGregor will appear in one of the remaining two seasons of Game of Thrones,” a source told Belfast Live. “He was headhunted as it were by HBO, as one of the Game of Thrones directors is a huge UFC fan. They believed that he would be a perfect fit for the show.”
Today, those rumors were confirmed by Dana White who revealed the news while speaking with Jay & Dan on Fox Sports Live. White didn't give any details regarding what kind of role McGregor will play on GOT, but he did confirm that his cash cow has already filmed scenes.
"I knew that a few months ago that they were interested in putting him in the show," White said ... "And I'm glad he did it. It'll be great."
Not that the hit tv series needed any extra hype leading into their final two seasons, but the addition of a wildling like McGregor certainly couldn't hurt.
