The whole point of Colin Kaepernick's National Anthem protest was to raise awareness about social and racial injustices in the United States with hopes that he could encourage others to seek reform. You would figure he'd take some time to vote on election day in an effort to truly benefit the cause and help create the change he wishes to see in our country.
However, Kaepernick says he didn't even bother voting.
Kaepernick had previously stated that he didn't care for either candidate in the Presidential election, but individual votes play a crucial role in other elections from congresspeople to statewide initiatives to local officeholders.
He had an opportunity to exercise his right to vote and participate as an advocate for civil rights but declined to do so which is, in the words of Stephen A. Smith, "weak."
