Freddie Gibbs's extradition hearing to determine whether or not he would be handed over to Austrian authorities has been delayed until June 16. It was scheduled to take place yesterday.
Gibbs was arrested last week in Toulouse, France for an alleged rape committed in Austria in 2015. His lawyer, Michael Malka, says that he will fight extradition.
“Freddie Gibbs has indicated to the court that he would not be willing to be handed over to Austrian authorities without exercising his rights to a defense," Malka said. “He categorically denies the accusations made against him in Austria. He is even very surprised that Austria could act on this a year later, while he was on tour in Europe.”
We'll keep you posted as the story develops.
