Yesterday, Kid Cudi aired out frustrations with the music industry while on twitter. It's not the first time Cudder has voiced his distaste for industry politics, while affirming his chokehold on the culture. This time though, he called out Drake and Kanye West specifically for not supporting him, even when he was loyal to them.
"My tweets apply to who they apply. Ye, Drake, whoever. These niggas dont give a fuck about me. And they aint fuckin with me," he wrote, saying later, "Ive been loyal to those who haven't been to me and that ends now. Now im your threat."
The first rapper to respond was Kanye West. During his "Saint Pablo" performance last night, Ye warned Cudi. "Kid Cudi don’t ever mention Ye name..I birthed you…we all dealing with that emo shit all the time…me, [Plain] Pat, Don C. Don’t ever mention ‘Ye name, don’t try to say who I can do songs with. You mad because I’m doing songs with Drake, can’t nobody tell ‘Ye who to do songs with. Respect the God."
Now Drizzy has offered a very Drake reply, in that it's sneaky and subliminal. During his "Summer Sixteen" show (the tour has become fodder for plenty of news stories), the rapper made a play on words using O.T. Genasis' "Cut It" as inspiration. "Boy, you getting way too high, you need to Cud-it," he told the crowd.
