Colin Kaepernick hot takes are all the rage right now. More and more current, and former, NFL stars are weighing in on Kaep's decision to sit during the National Anthem this past weekend but Rodney Harrison really set himself apart from the rest with his assessment of the events.
In an interview with Houston's SportsTalk 790 today, the former Patriots and Chargers safety said that Kaepernick doesn't truly understand the injustices that black people face because his biological mother is white.
"I'll tell you this," Harrison said ... "I'm a black man and Colin Kaepernick ... he's not black."
"He cannot understand what I face and what other black men and black people face on a every single [day] basis."
"He can not understand what I face and what other young black men and black people face, or people of color face, on a every single (day) basis. When you walk in a grocery store, and you might have $2,000 or $3,000 in your pocket and you go up in to a Foot Locker and they're looking at you like you about to steal something."
Furthermore, Harrison added that he thinks the 49ers QB is only taking this stand now because he already inked a new $11 million contract and that all he has done is create a distraction for his teammates.
One thing's for sure, Kaepernick doesn't care what Harrison, Tiki Barber, Jerry Rice or any other former players have to say about his movement- he plans to sit during the National Anthem for the foreseeable future.
