Rihanna lands another acting gig, this time for the "Ocean's Eleven" spin-off, "Ocean's Eight."

The "Ocean's Eleven" series is getting a facelift and a comeback. The franchise was already revived once in 2001 (with the original "Ocean's Eleven" debuting in the 1960s), and went on to get a total of three films to its name. The third and final film, "Ocean's Thirteen" was released in 2007. Each film had George Clooney and Brad Pitt as the leads, but this time around, Warner Bros. is taking the series in a different direction and enlisting an all-female cast.

Deadline reports today that pop star Rihanna is among the cast of females for "Ocean's Eight," as well as Mindy Kaling, Awkwafina, Helena Bonham Carter, Sandra Bullock and Cate Blanchette. The movie has apparently locked in an October start date to shoot in New York. The film will be produced by "Ocean's Eleven" director Steven Soderbergh.

RiRi continues to foray deeper in the motion picture scene, including a starring role in "Valerian and the City of a Thousand Planets," due out next summer, and more recently, she nabbed the role of Marion Crane in "Bates Motel."
