Luck signs 6-year $140M extension with the Colts.

The Indianapolis Colts have locked up Andrew Luck through 2021, with a massive 6-year $140 million contract extension. The $23.3 million per year average salary is the highest in NFL history, surpassing the Ravens' Joe Flacco.

Most importantly, $87 million of that $140M is guaranteed.

Luck was plagued by injuries last year which I'm sure his fantasy owners clearly remember, but the fact that he missed nine games wasn't going to deter Jim Irsay and the Colts from dishing out the big bucks for their franchise QB.

“This is an exciting day for the organization and Colts fans around the globe,’’ Irsay said in a statement released by the team. “Andrew is the consummate professional, possesses extraordinary talent and is our leader on and off the field. When you consider what this team has accomplished in four seasons with Andrew under center, you cannot help but be thrilled about the future.’’

Now that he's not making the measly $16M a year from his rookie contract, Luck has some major plans for his newfound fortune- a robot ping pong machine.
