Tory Lanez almost had no voice left, but still managed to sit down with Hot 97's Ebro in the Morning for an interview. The rapper has evidently been going hard on his "Level Up" tour with ASAP Ferg, a pre-cursor of sorts to his debut album I Told You. We led the way for I Told You with the premiere of Tory's Caribbean-flavored single "Luv," the style of which he discusses with Ebro (as well as the general popularity of that style, and obviously Drake comes into this discussion).
T Lanez and Ebro get into the Drake debate prior to the discussion of "Luv." Subliminals have been thrown from either side, but Tory says of their possible "beef":
"There's never been a personal problem cause I don't know that man. It's just one of those situations where, the only thing that's ever gunna lie in between us is that we can't share first place. And I'm the only guy that's bold enough to come and really take that right now."
He adds, "Hip-hop is a contact sport, I'm here to compete, I'm here to be #1." He goes on to say, "I was a fan of his music before, no one's ever took that from me. That doesn't mean I'm not here to take my crown."
