It's over between Iggy Azalea and Nick Young, who had been engaged for over a year. Iggy shared the news today with a heartfelt note that was posted to her Instagram.
"Unfortunately although I love Nick and have tried and tried to rebuild my trust with him," she wrote, "It's become apparent in the last few weeks I am unable to."
It's unclear what went down in the last few weeks, but Iggy's trust of her then-fiancé was seriously compromised a few months ago, when a video recording of Young disclosing his adulterous proclivities to his Lakers teammate D'Angelo Russell leaked online. The recording had been taken by Russell -- presumably without Young's permission -- and he's not sure how it was able to find its way to the Internet. Unsurprisingly, the leak of the video led Russell to be the target of animosity, from Young as well as other players who felt that he violated the ethics of a sportsman.
At first, Iggy responded to the controversy with humor and grace, though she did admit that if she caught her man red-handed again, she'd leave him with "half a penis." Well, Young presumably still has his manhood intact, though he's now without his bride-to-be. This most certainly will not alleviate any of the tension in the Lakers locker room.
"I genuinely wish the Nick the best," wrote Iggy with a spirit of dignity. "It's never easy to part ways with the person you planned your entire future with, but futures can be written and as of today mine is a blank page."
