Eminem's "Stan" has gone down as a classic hip-hop narrative, and while each verse is an essential part of building one of rap's most infamous characters, the third 16, which finds Stan at his breaking point is easily the most chilling part of the record. Em's vocal performance is as important as his writing at this point in the story, and as effective as it came out, Em has revealed that there was actually a superior take of verse 3 that was erased by a stoned engineer.
