Everybody knows that there's a curious likeness between Future and 18-year-old Brooklyn rapper Desiigner. Most listeners immediately hear hints of Future in Desiigner's voice, though legendary Atlanta producer Jermaine Dupri recently discovered that the similarities may not end there.
JD was messing around with his mixer and turntables when he noticed an eerie resemblance between the instrumental of Future's "Commas," included on both Monster and DS2, and that of Desiigner's "Panda," which is currently the No. 2 song in the country.
It seems that Dupri caught some flack after calling out Desiigner's derivative production, so he hopped back on Twitter to share a video of him mixing the "Commas" beat into that of "Panda." "By the way I don't care either," he wrote in the caption of the video. "I was was just fucking around on the tables," before adding, "don't shoot me," spelled out in emojis.
Note that "Panda" is produced by UK producer Menace, whereas the beat to "Commas" comes from DJ Spinz and Southside.
After watching JD's video, listen to both "Commas" and "Panda" below. What's your verdict after comparing the two?
