A weekly look at how many units hip-hop and r'n'b albums are selling, as well as their chart position.

The appearance of a brand new #1 and #2 album on the Billboard 200 this past week means that Kanye West's The Life of Pablo was booted from the top spot down to #4 overall. Rihanna came in just behind him at #5, marking the second of two urban albums in the top 10 this week.

Just outside of the top 10 were the likes of Kevin Gates, Bryson Tiller, G-Eazy, and The Weeknd, who all stuck in the same exact spots as last week. Future has three releases within the #20-#30 range, which is a huge feat. Hats off to him for that.

...

1) Kanye West - The Life of Pablo: For its second week on the Billboard charts, Kanye West's latest album moved 47,246 TAEU (total album equivalent units) and 1,384 in pure sales. This lands Mr. West at #4 overall, not bad for an album that actually came out over two months ago (!).

2) Rihanna - ANTI: Rihanna's eighth studio album continues to go strong this week, doing 43,790 TAEU and 12,247 sales while it lands at #5, one spot higher than last week. For the ninth week in a row, Rihanna has the #1 single in the form of "Work." She's also giving the album an extra push today with the release of her "Needed Me" video.

3) Kevin Gates - ISLAH: Kevin Gates is sticking in the same spot he was in last week, at #11. This time, ISLAH did 24,699 TAEU and 7,136 in pure sales off the strength of its many singles. While ISLAH is definitely a successful dip into the mainstream for Gates, he's not leaving the mixtape scene behind yet-- the rapper recently teased a Murder For Hire 2 project.

4) Bryson Tiller - T R A P S O U L: Bryson Tiller is sticking in the same spot as last week as well, that would be, #12. His debut full-length T R A P S O U L moves another 22,836 TAEU and 4,718 sales as it nears thirty weeks on the charts.

5) G-Eazy - When It's Dark Out: In what's a relatively rare occurance this week, G-Eazy too is in the same spot as last week. Coming in once again at the #13 spot, the Cali-bred MC's sophomore full-length tallies an additional 21,428 TAEU and 3,818 sales onto its success.

6) The Weeknd - Beauty Behind the Madness: Abel stays stagnant as well (sorry guys, not the most exciting week here), remaining at the #14 spot since last week. His wildly successful Beauty Behind the Madness rings in another 20,137 TAEU and 5,828 in pure sales after thirty-three weeks on the charts.

7) Drake and Future - What a Time to Be Alive: Drizzy and Future Hendrix slipped out of the top 20 this week, landing at the #21 spot after last week's stint at #17. WATTBA does 16,581 TAEU and in pure sales 1,766 as it continues to receive airplay and spins in the club, not to mention, play through the Apple Music commercial.

8) Fetty Wap - Fetty Wap: Slipping just one spot is Fetty Wap with his debut self-titled release. Fetty Wap, which has more than a couple huge singles, moves 16,010 TAEU and 3,068 in pure sales as it nears thirty weeks on the charts. Even with this, Fetty continues to throw out loose records weekly on Soundcloud; he can seemingly do no wrong.

9) Future - EVOL: Future's latest among a recent string of releases, EVOL, climbs up three spots this week. Last week he was at #27, and this week he lands at #25, doing 15,264 TAEU and 1,542 in pure sales.

10) Future - Dirty Sprite 2DS2 seems to be making a slow climb back up the charts again as well. For his third full-length in the top 30, Future does 13,467 TAEU and 18,631 in sales for this project.

...

Rihanna and Drake continue to hold down the #1 spot for the ninth week in a row on Billboard's coveted Hot 100 chart with "Work." Desiigner, however, is definitely eyeing the spot and it looks like it could be his any day now-- "Panda" made the news when it landed at the #2 spot. Can he wedge them out with his broads in Atlanta? Time will tell...

The Ty Dolla $ign-assisted Fifth Harmony single "Work From Home" continues to see success as well, making it up to the #7 spot this week. Drake's new single, "One Dance," featuring WizKid & Kyla, wastes no time making an impression on the charts, going from #21 to #13. "Pop Style," on the other hand, drops from #16 to #19. Are you surprised that "One Dance" seems to be performing better than "Pop Style"?
