The Brooklyn Afropunk festival has emerged as one of the preeminent displays of Afro-centric music in all of its far-reaching varieties. This year's festival, which will take place on August 27 and 28 at the Commodore Perry Park in the Fort Greene neighborhood, looks to host the most impressive lineup yet, with a diverse range of exciting acts including Tyler, the Creator, Ice Cube, Flying Lotus, CeeLo Green, The Internet, and more.
The festival will also host its usual Superjam, and this year, a band made up of members from the esteemed groups Bad Brains, Living Colour, and Fishbone will gather on stage for a performance that's sure to be among the highlights of the weekend. In addition to the main stage, there will be a stage curated for Flying Lotus's Brainfeeder label and another one for L.A.'s Soulection collective.
