Common hasn't popped up in the news, at least when it pertains to music, for a bit. We've heard about his acting endeavors-- he has a role in the new "Barbershop" film that hits theatres today, and we know he has a big role in an upcoming "John Wick" sequel. However now we know what he's been up to when it comes to his rap career.
We got an itch for new Common records after the rapper killed his performance with Ice Cube on Jimmy Fallon, for the "Barbershop" record "Real People." Now during a recent promo visit to "Live! with Kelly and Michael," the rapper did confirm he's working on his eleventh studio album, while also discussing his role in "Barbershop."
"I’m working on a new project with this great, talented producer named Karriem Riggins," he says of the upcoming album. "Man, I just feel good about the music. And Robert Glasper, whose a great musician, a pianist. I’m working with them."
We're excited. Common's last album, Nobody's Smiling, dropped in 2014. Watch the interview clip with Kelly and Michael below.
