Kobe Bryant’s legendary career winds to a close tomorrow as the Los Angeles Lakers close out the regular season at home against the Utah Jazz. Tickets to the Staples Center have always been among the most expensive of any NBA arena, but prices have reached new highs ahead of tomorrow’s final game.
The average resale ticket is going for $2,110, while the cheapest is a meager $888. Those are small beans compared to what people are shelling out to be close to the action and Kobe Bryant himself. ESPN reported one person paying $55,000 for two tickets, and Top Dawg Entertainment’s CEO Anthony Tiffith corroborated that by posting a screenshot of his own courtside ticket purchase. He must be towards the corner, because he only paid $17,500 per ticket. As an aside, it must be soul-crushing to pay almost $6,000 in service fees.
When you look at the cost of these tickets, it really puts that $38,000 hat into perspective.
