About two weeks ago, Meek Mill came through with his first new music since last summer's Dreams Worth More Than Money, his sophomore album. He did not release his long-awaited Dreamchasers 4 mixtape, which was expected to be his next project; instead, he dropped a 4-track EP titled 4/4. And going off a recent Instagram post, it looks like Meek is planning to drop off one more EP, made up of another 4 tracks, before the eventual arrival of Dreamchasers 4.
"I can not wait to slide back by and set y'all straight 4 more b4 the 4," Meek wrote in the caption of a picture in which he tagged himself. The post indeed seems to suggest that the Philly rapper is planning to drop off 4 more tracks before DC4, aka "the 4."
If he sticks to his word and delivers a second consecutive EP, fans will be wondering if any of the 8 released tracks will appear on Dreamchasers 4.
The 4/4 EP included no features and production from C-Sick, Jahlil Beats, and more. He took shots at Drake on one track (a WATTBA remix) and went at 50 Cent on another. With his next EP, he plans to "set y'all straight." Think it's a feasible goal?
Interestingly enough, Meek Mill dropped 4/4 during a live episode of OVO Sound Radio. The next installment of the Beats 1 show goes down tomorrow at 6 PM, and the host is none other than October's Very Own himself. If Meek chooses to release new music during the show, he could very well be competing with something new from Drake, perhaps off Views from the 6.
Would it be a wise move for Meek to drop new material tomorrow night while Drizzy's on the air? Or, on the other hand, would that be Meek's poorest decision since he called out his "R.I.C.O." collaborator for not tweeting his album?
