There's been a lot of confusion over the release of Kanye West's The Life Of Pablo, particularly over whether or not the album's present state on Tidal was its final form. While rumors are still floating around about alternative versions of songs, Kanye seems to have put the hope for a physical release of the project to bed.
Ye shared his feelings on the future of streaming on twitter today, beginning with what seemed like a musing on physical music formats. "I was thinking about not making CDs ever again... Only streaming," he wrote, but quickly taking a definitive stance on the matter, declaring, "the Yeezus album packaging was an open casket to CDs r.i.p... uuuuuuum, so there it is... No more CDs from me."
From there, he defended his tendency to speak his mind. "question... Why do people not want me to be me?... I want people to be the best version of themselves and I will be the best version of me.... please avoid trying to talk me out of being me in the future."
Naturally, he closed with some positive vibes, and what is becoming a recurring hashtag joke. Check out his latest thoughts below. Did Ye just single-handedly kill the CD?
