It’s probably a little early to start thinking about the holiday season, but Nike and Air Jordan know how to tickle our consumerist tendencies. In two separate reports, a retailer has shared news that both the “True Blue” Air Jordan 3 and “Space Jam” Air Jordan 11 will be dropping this coming holiday season.
The “True Blue” Air Jordan 3 will be retroing for the first time since 2011 (which was a Canada-only release), and for the first time since their original production in 1988, the retros will have “Nike Air” branding on the heel in place of the Jumpman logo. For purists, this is fantastic news. The rest of the shoe is as iconic as can be, with the elephant print accents and clean white upper. The shoe will mostly likely get premium materials associated with Air Jordan’s “Remastered” collection sneakers.
One of the few sneakers that could top the “True Blue” 3s, the “Space Jam” Air Jordan 11s will be returning in December for the first time since they retroed in 2009, also during the holiday season. Unlike the 3s, there will be no changes to the shoe’s design, but that’s just fine by us. For anyone that hasn’t seen the source material, Michael Jordan dons the “Space Jam” 11s during his showdown with the Monstars in the film “Space Jam.” It’s a classic.
Note the photos above are of the previous retros, not of the the versions releasing in 2016.
