Meek Mill isn't getting any love in the 6, and that includes within the Toronto Raptors organization. The Philly Dreamchasers' music is not allowed to show up on the team's pre-game playlist.
Before the team was to fly to London for a special matchup with the Orlando Magic, Complex asked two Raptors players, Patrick Patterson and James Johnson, about what Drake's support has meant to the team. They were then asked about what music they like to play in the locker room, and if the music of certain artists who might be in a rivalry with their "global ambassador" is strictly avoided.
"Oh yeah, Meek Mill has been banned for a long time," said Patterson. "No one plays Meek Mill."
They also spoke on how Drake's support has boosted the team's image around the world.
“We all know that there are a lot of Drake fans across the world and there might not be too many Raptors fans from Toronto that converted from Drake, but it might happen elsewhere,” Patterson said.
Johnson went on to compare Drake's partnership with the Raptors to Jay Z's part-ownership of the Brooklyn Nets. "Jay Z did the same with the Brooklyn Nets but Drake is such a mogul that it definitely boosted the Raptors and more kids are now probably playing 2K16 with the Raptors because of him!"
