Kanye West is scheduled to perform at a Democratic National Committee fundraiser in San Francisco on October 10, reports NBC. The fundraiser will apparently be an "afternoon concert" at The Warfield, which has a 2,300 seating capacity. NBC also reports that Kanye will perform songs off his upcoming album, SWISH. Ticket prices range from $250 to $10,000. President Obama is also scheduled to attend.
Going off those prices, the DNC stands to make a lot of money for the upcoming 2016 presidential race with the Kanye concert. As Kanye has announced plans to run in the ensuing election, in 2020, perhaps the DNC wants to integrate him into their party.
The news comes shortly after Kanye West issued high praise to a Republican candidate, Dr. Ben Carson, calling him "the most brilliant guy." Carson recently revealed that he and Kanye have spoken, and that he is "extremely impressed" with Kanye as a businessman and that he is "certainly willing to give him a chance" as a presidential candidate.
Are the parties battling over Mr. West?
