This Sunday night, the VMAs will go down in L.A., and although Kanye West has not yet been confirmed as a performer, he'll be present to receive the award show's most prestigious honor. It's just been announced that he'll be honored with the Michael Jackson Video Vanguard award, which was awarded to Beyoncé last year, and artists such as Janet Jackson and Justin Timberlake in years past.
MTV announced the news via short montage video (below), which combines a few recognizable aspects of Kanye's videos over the years. The presentation ceremony is expected to involve a similar, albeit longer, video that reminisces on and pays tribute to Mr. West's diverse catalog of videos.
Tune in at 9 PM EST on Sunday, and we'll keep you updated on the action.
