Just hours after I heard it blare from speakers behind the counter of a Subway on my lunch break, The Weeknd's "Can't Feel My Face" has officially achieved the benchmark that we've all been expecting it to reach: the top spot on Billboard's Hot 100 chart. Billboard reports that the song just dethroned OMI's "Cheerleader," which spent four weeks at the top.
"Can't Feel My Face" had already sat atop the Hot R&B/Hip-Hop Songs chart for four weeks, and it's not even Abel Tesfaye's only top ten song of the year. "Earned It" peaked at number three in May, and "The Hills" still sits at number eleven. With his sophomore album, Beauty Behind The Madness, dropping in just over two weeks, The Weeknd looks like he planned this whole thing out very well.
