Bill Cosby has been a hot topic this year. Allegations of rape have flooded in against the once-beloved actor, and more seem to come out the woodwork each day. At first, there was plenty of skepticism facing the story, however with Cosby's own confession coming to light via an unearthed deposition from a sexual abuse lawsuit, there is now little doubt that he did perform the acts he is being accused of.
Not only that, but over the weekend the New York Times uncovered more deposition transcripts, from over 10 years ago when a young woman accused him of drugging and molesting her (as many women now have). In the deposition, Cosby is presented as an "unapologetic, cavalier playboy, someone who used a combination of fame, apparent concern and powerful sedatives in a calculated pursuit of young women." Cosby was apparently mocking and flippant during the entire deposition.
Nonetheless, even with the mounting evidence, there are some people who are unwavering in their support of Cosby. Joey Bada$$ recently came to his defense, while also calling out the media in their portrayal of Cosby. Bada$$ says he's "always against a rapist but it's just like yall EAT UP anything the media feeds yall."
The twitter rant started with, "I don't fuck with the Bill Cosby slander." He went on to say, "You internet kids know NOTHING except what they put in front of you on these devices," and accused the media of brainwashing.
Of course, there was some backlash to what he was saying, however the rapper challenged it by tweeting, "Wow yall niggas mad because Im not gonna let the media brainwash me into hating one of my childhood BLACK heroes. Fuck yall."
