A federal judge ruled that 50 Cent's sex tape case may continue in spite of the rapper's new chapter 11 bankruptcy filing.
The filing briefly halted the civil trial featuring 50 vs. Lastonia Leviston, aka Rick Ross' baby mama. The courts recently ordered 50 to pay $5 million after he posted her sex tape online in 2009. In a hearing on Friday, U.S. Bankruptcy Court Judge Ann M. Nevins in Hartford ordered that the punitive portion of the trial be continued this upcoming Monday, reports the Hartford Courant. The original request came from Philip Freidin, Leviston's lawyer.
“We’re very happy to be back in court Monday so the jury can finish its work on this case. Once more, we have overcome another delay to finally get back to Lastonia Leviston’s pursuit of justice against Mr. Curtis Jackson III," Friedin said.
Good attempt by 50. Can't knock the hustle.
