In these tumultuous and confusing times, it’s good to know we have Lil Wayne.
Weezy was just about the only constant in this week’s Top 10, with nearly all other tracks getting washed out in a wave of new music.
Let’s get started.
10) Tyga ft. Boosie Badazz – Pleazer
Tyga goes back to his bread and butter with the bass-heavy slaps in this FKi-produced track. The hypnotic beat and out-there verse from Boosie pushed this new track into the Top 10 in its first week on the charts. Boosie straight wrecks this beat.
9) Travi$ Scott ft. Young Thug - Drunk
An 80% from the notoriously Thugga-averse readers of HNHH? You know it has to be good. This Allen Ritter-produced track is the only song that stayed on the charts not made by Dwayne Michael Carter, Jr. It fell one spot from last week, landing at number nine.
8) Omarion ft. Kid Ink & French Montana – I’m Up (Tags)
Omarian is on fire lately. His song “Post To Be” is still ruling the radio and he looks well on his way to another hit with “I’m Up (Tags)”. This track is so infectious that even French Montana and an overly talkative DJ couldn’t spoil it.
It came in at number eight in its first week.
7) Young Thug – Paradise
Yet another Young Thug leak. This one didn’t fare as well as his Travi$ Scott collab, earning a “Meh” from readers but making it all the way to number seven in its debut week.
6) Fetty Wap – Sum’n Quick
Fetty Wap wants the world to know that he isn’t going anywhere. The Jersey crooner released this toss-off following his XXL Freshman freestyle. Its catchiness is a testament to both his songwriting and sense of rhythm (not to mention his producers).
The track was the lowest ranking of Fetty’s new releases, coming in at number six.
5) O.T. Genasis ft. Lil Wayne – Do It
Speaking of viral rappers, O.T. Genasis is trying equally hard to hold on to the spotlight. The “CoCo” hitmaker is taking no chances, enlisting Lil Wayne to ensure a high-profile release on his first Rhythm & Bricks single.
The Top Ten loves few things more than Weezy, so it landed at number five.
4) Fetty Wap – Ride or Die
Fetty Wap slowed it down and dueted with a mystery woman for his second Soundcloud release of the week.
Clearly, listeners were feeling the Zoo Gang leader’s mellow side. They pushed the track all the way to number four in its first week on the charts.
3) Lil Wayne – Hot Boy (Freestyle)
Wayne’s freestyle over this Bankroll Fresh track pulled off a rare feat, actually gaining ground after premiering in the Top 10.
“Hot Boy” climbed one spot to end up at number three in its second week on the charts.
2) Lil Wayne – Glory
This song will be here when the sun burns out. The track has over 840 thousand views and a remarkably positive rating. It finally fell from the top spot in its third week on the chart, but not by much.
1) Meek Mill ft. Chris Brown & French Montana – Poppin (Remix)
Lil Wayne can take solace in the fact that “Poppin” will never catch up to his numbers. This All-Star (and French) remix of Rico Richie’s ascendant street hit featured the perfect beat for Meek Mill to yell over. It was just a matter of time.
