The story of one of rap's most important crews, N.W.A, will be told on the big screen this summer. To celebrate the biopic, "Straight Outta Compton," the veteran rap group will reunite on stage for the first time in 26 years.
The performance, which will be part of the BET Experience, goes down at L.A.'s Staple Center on June 27th. Ice Cube, DJ Yella, and MC Ren will run through some of N.W.A.'s classic records, and although Dr. Dre's name was not a part of the announcement, Cube hinted that he will be there as well. Let's hope so.
In addition to the surviving members of N.W.A, Cube said that Snoop Dogg, Kendrick Lamar and ScHoolboy Q would also join them on stage. "It’s just gonna be one of those ‘I wish I were there in L.A. nights.’ And we’re gonna rock that shit, no problem," he said.
The film hits theatres on August 14th.
