In the R&B game, there's no one hotter than Tinashe. Last fall, the 22-year-old L.A. singer blew us away with her debut album, Aquarius, which is still spawning hits, such as "All Hands On Deck," which just got a remarkable new video.
Her latest mixtape, Amethyst, kept the heat going, and we recently heard her on a leaked Drake record, which, in a recent interview with SPIN, she now tells us was meant for Aquarius but was scrapped due to time constraints. Even with no Drizzy, though, she has huge expectations for her next album, and she's got some of the world's most successful producers on deck.
Tinashe has shown major pop appeal with hits like "2 On" and "All Hands On Deck," but she wants her next album to go #1, and she's enlisted the help of Swedish producer Max Martin, who, with the recent addition of Taylor Swift's "Bad Blood" to his creds, has 20 #1 singles to his name. He, apparently, already has "seven or eight" records in the bag with Tinashe.
Other bigwig producers on the LP will include: Dr. Luke (another Swede with several #1s to his name), Cirkut, and Rock City. With Tinashe's ever-rising ambitions, the record should come sooner rather than later: "I'm so impatient that I'm already thinking so far in the future. In my head we're in 2016 and I'm winning my Grammy for this next album that's already come out."
You think Tinashe is ready for a #1 album?
